Representatives of the international project Tiny Books from Baltic Authors will hold a panel discussion on April 5th during the London Book Fair. The discussion will be held in the Olympic Theatre in London at 15.15 to 16.00.
The project ‘Tiny Books on Human Rights from Baltic Authors’ was created to enrich children’s literature with topics of cultural diversity and depict a variety of social backgrounds. The project’s participants – established writers and illustrators from three Baltic countries created 18 tiny books for children between the ages of 6 to 10. The books are downloadable free of charge and they are accompanied with methodological user aids developed by child psychologists, children’s literature critics, and reading promotion specialists, encouraging parents and educators to explore the stories together with children.
The panel discussion will introduce the tiny books and user aids, as well as discuss the importance of literature’s role in educating readers about human rights issues.
