Estonian Children’s Literature Centre has put together a list of children’s books that use simple Estonian language. These books are a great resource for all Estonian language learners, as well as for kids that are just learning to read. The list on the web-page of the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre features 45 picture books and 29 storybooks.
The list is helpful for librarians, teachers, parents, as well as Estonian language enthusiasts to find and recommend appropriate reading materials.
The selection is suitable for:
- reading aloud,
- learning to read,
- practicing reading for a child with a mild reading difficulty,
- a child growing up outside the Estonian language environment to maintain vocabulary and language skills,
- non-Estonian-speaking children to acquire Estonian.
