Three books by Estonian authors have been selected for the prestigious “Amazing Bookshelf” at the international Bologna Children’s Book Fair. This special selection highlights outstanding works of artistic and literary quality from around the world. Out of 3,858 books submitted for the BolognaRagazzi Awards, 150 exceptional titles from 47 countries were chosen.
Estonia is proudly represented in the “Amazing Bookshelf” selection by three books:
- “Mr. Harald’s Dream Garden” – written by Anti Saar, illustrated by Marja-Liisa Plats
- “A Little Bit Big” – written by Kairi Look, illustrated by Anne Pikkov
- “Ita and Squeak” – written and illustrated by Ulla Saar
The books included in the “Amazing Bookshelf” selection were recognized for their creativity, artistic excellence, and innovation. This collection features works by both established authors and emerging talents.
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is a major international event that brings together publishers, illustrators, and literature enthusiasts from all over the world, offering Estonian authors an excellent platform to showcase their work. In 2025, Estonia will be the Guest of Honour at the fair.
