Hi, I’m Loore, and I’m terribly afraid. No matter how much I try to think about my favourite things, like trampolines or pancakes, this fear just won’t go away. I know it sounds a bit weird, but… I think our new school doctor is a witch. There’s no way that an unnaturally strong skinny little lady who has enormous black curly hair and a horribly squeaky voice is just ordinary person!
Besides, she chants under her nose while handing out medicine, and speaks in a really odd way in general. What does that weird word bairn mean, which everyone keeps hearing echoing from the doctor’s office? What should I do? Should I share my fear with my friends—is shared fear also a fear halved?
