The Paper Boat

Ekke is sick. He hasn’t been able to go outside for several weeks. Every day, Ekke sits in his bedroom and makes a little paper boat. He’s good at folding the paper boats, though. His grandpa, who was a sailor, taught him how while he was still alive. “As soon as the snow and ice melt… As soon as spring arrives… As soon as I’m healthy again, I’ll send these boats on their way. Down along the river,” Ekke sighs wistfully as he sits down by the window.

The Paper Boat is a story about wishes, memories of people we’ve lost and hope.
