Luise is almost nine, and until a year ago she was quite sure that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her life. She had the best desk mate in the world and a perfectly normal class … And then, all of a sudden, everything changed. One day, her parents announced that the whole family was moving away. To Germany.
From that moment on, Luise’s life is turned upside down (to say the least). They live in a smart house programmed by Dad, and the house never stops giving its two cents and takes turns driving everyone round the bend. In his spare time, Dad is building a helicopter in the garage. Yes, an actual helicopter! Mum, meanwhile, is trying – with very little success – to get the whole family to eat her outrageously healthy mixtures of seeds, purées, baked goods and goodness knows what else. And Luise’s little brother Rudolf isn’t simply a troublesome three-year-old – he is a proper little terror, and chaos seems to follow him everywhere.
Now Luise has to find her feet at a new school, surrounded by new classmates, where, naturally, everything is taught in German and things are done rather differently from back home in Estonia.
