Illustration exhibitions in July 2023

From 3rd of July to 4th of August two exhibitions can be seen at the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre. Upstairs in the hall is the solo exhibition of Ukrainian illustrator Oksana Drachkovska, and in the staircase gallery you can admire the illustrations of the exhibition “A Handful of Book Pictures” by Estonian artists.

Illustrator Oksana Drachkovska (1987) graduated from Lviv State Academy of Arts, majoring in painting. During her career, she has collaborated with many publishing houses and magazines, and has also created commercial illustrations for companies around the world. In 2016, she received scholarships from Gaude Polonia (Poland) and SAIA (Slovakia). In 2020, her illustrated book “The Unjumping Bunny and His Brave Mother” was recognized with an award at the Lviv Book Fair in the category of literature for children aged 6-8 years. In 2021, 2022 and 2023, she was a finalist at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair illustration competition. Oksana’s biggest source of inspiration is nature, landscapes and travels. Most of all, she likes to work with books that have a poetic mood.

In the staircase gallery, however, you can see book illustrations by several Estonian illustrators.

Exhibitions can be visited during the opening hours of the centre Mon-Fri 10-17.
