On the 7th January the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre opened voting for the Nukits competition (Young Reader’s Choice Award), where children up to 16 years old can vote for their favourite writer and illustrator. The voting takes place in libraries throughout Estonia and online on the website of the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre.
The voters will have the opportunity to choose their favourites from 207 books from the years 2014 and 2015; there are 119 Estonian writers and 98 illustrators competing. The voting is open until the 20th February.
The winners of the competition will be announced in the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre on the 2nd April 2016.
The Nukits competition has taken place every second year since 1992. Previous winners can be found here.
